Concert Attire . . . for You and Your Score
We're not all using the same version of the score, and the various editions are visibly different, so we'll need to black them out so present a more uniform appearance during the concert. You can do this either by using a black folder -- any plain black folder that will contain your score and that you can hold comfortably will do -- or by covering your score with black paper. Please do this before the orchestra rehearsals.
Concert dress for us is also plain, solid black, in long sleeves, pants, and skirts. Black socks/tights, black shoes. No sheer fabrics, daring neck- or hemlines, or colorful or sparkly accessories.
Although we sometimes call our last two rehearsals "dress" rehearsals, we don't actually WEAR our concert dress until the concert :-)

Kate's Corner
Rehearsal after rehearsal, measure by measure, we sail toward a stunning performance on the night of May 2. We still have our work cut out for us, so I would encourage everyone to pick up their scores and give special attention to troublesome notes and sequences. The music rehearsal files are so helpful, both listening to passages for individual parts and then trying to sing along with the orchestral version. If you haven’t used the music rehearsal files yet, doing so can really improve accuracy and confidence: https://acithaca.org/groups/icccs/music-rehearsal-files/ Make sure to scroll down the page to find your individual parts.
What song would you choose to listen to for the rest of your life? Here is what these folks said:
Devin Hott "Rusalka, Rusalka/Wild Rushes" (The Decemberists)
Helen M "Jubilate Deo" (G. Gabrieli)
Henrike Burton "Ave Maria" (Josquin des Prez)
Joyce Morgenroth Goldberg Variations (Bach)
Catherine Gale "All The Things You Are" (Jerome Kern)
Allison M "Closer To Fine" (Indigo Girls)
Jim H "Humming Chorus" from Madame Butterfly (Puccini)
Take good care of yourselves, and I will see you next week!

The Search is ON . . .
. . . for new officers of Affiliated Choruses of Ithaca (ACI), including President, Treasurer and Secretary. ACI is a nonprofit organization that confers 501(c)(3) status on our chorus and our three "sister" groups, which means that donations we receive are tax exempt. By pooling resources and working together, each chorus is strengthened and is more legally and financially secure.
To begin the search for a new treasurer specifically, we would like those of you who are adept with numbers and spreadsheets to take a look at the combined ACI choruses' roster to identify anyone who may be able and willing to serve in this capacity. This is really a small request -- just see what names pop out as possible candidates. If you're willing to take a look, email Kate at iccpres@ACIthaca.org. Thank you!
