PITTSBURGH, PA (PittsburghNewsWire.com) -- June 21, 2011 -- The Grand Opening of Metamorphosis Salon & Day Spa, located in the Lawrenceville community at 5112 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA, is scheduled to begin on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. and run through the weekend.
Metamorphosis is a unique, environmentally friendly salon/spa, using all-natural products, such as Aveda™ for hair, Nufree™ for hair removal, and Eminence™ for facials and body treatments. One of the most unique elements in the spa is the Steamy Wonder™ tent, which is used in combination with other services such as lymphatic drainage massage and detoxification and cellulite treatments. This special steaming tent is touted as having various health benefits and is nonetheless a relaxing and rejuvenating experience.
The name, Metamorphosis, was given to the salon/spa because of its literal meaning. As owner Judy Scarfone explains, "The name means 'a profound change from within' and that is the experience we bring to our clients. Our goal is to provide a positive change for them in some way--whether it is any of our external treatments or the good feeling they leave our spa with--we want Metamorphosis to be a retreat where they can feel good from the inside out." It is no coincidence that the name also refers to the change that has taken place to Lawrenceville's business landscape with the turnover of some of its tired businesses to fresh storefronts and new entrepreneurs.
Judy will also be working at the spa as a Certified Massage Therapist. She is excited about the opening and is proud to be offering the most natural or organic salon/spa products on the market. "We will be using Aveda™ hair products and the Eminence™ line of skin and body products, and there are several other innovative and 'green' products that perfectly complement each other, forming an unbeatable combination of environmentally conscious services offered under one roof," explains Judy. "To add to the beauty of our salon and our clients, we will also feature art and jewelry made by local artisans."
As a family-owned business, Metamorphosis will be managed by Judy's daughter, Mia Scarfone. Mia's experience as a salon stylist at two of Pittsburgh's upscale salons is paying off in her new role, and Mia will be busy in all aspects at Metamorphosis since she is also a certified full-service technician and can perform any of the spa/salon's services. Mia has an edgy vibrancy that spills over to her clients and those around her.
