Having just concluded the Fast of Tisha b'Av, the mood changes in our community. We begin the seven weeks of consolation leading up to Rosh Hashanah, the Maccabiah games kick off on Thursday, and this coming Monday is Tu b'Av ט"ו באב which is celebrated as the Jewish holiday of love חג האהבה and sometimes compared to Valentine's Day.
Last week, former first lady Hillary Clinton spoke at The Women in Public Service Project's summer session in Bryn Mawr, the House of Representatives stripped the traditional food relief out of the Farm Bill, and we welcome a new Israeli ambassador to the U.S. as well as a new White House Jewish outreach director.
