Pittwater's Only Wine Syndicate Newsletter
All the Wine that's fit to Drink :)

Greetings

IT'S ON

Your wine syndicate committee are pleased to advise that our next tasting is NOT virtual. Having heard from a well known source from the US that Covid 19 is well under control, we have decided to have a real tasting.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
We will be following the NSW government guidelines for such a gathering and we have a Covid Safe plan in place.
We will be expecting you to follow the 4 square metre rule and on this occasion we will not be sharing food or glasses.
Please bring your own tasting glass and a printed copy of the tasting notes and a pen.

Your committee will provide some nibbles.

There are some fabulous wines on the list, including a Berton Durif that I know and love. Jim had this to say:

'The list was chosen after tasting over 120 submitted items so there is plenty of competition for places enabling a highly varied range of varieties , styles and price levels to be offered. Even so, some worthy wines have been omitted partly because of lack of space. For example, if you are accustomed to buying the Fiddlers Creek sparkling wine at this time of the year you can still do so. It is made by Blue Pyrenees with whom we are dealing for other wines so it is an easy matter to add it to the order. Likewise for Berton Coonawarra cabernet which has won three gold medals but is high in tannin and not suitable for immediate drinking. But if that’s what you want just ask.
If you are attending a tasting before ordering be aware that there is not a lot of time between tasting and closing the order, particularly for non-Sydney members. Australia Post is increasingly unreliable for the prompt delivery of letters so please advise your order by phone or email and just put the cheque in the mail (or even better, learn to transfer by direct credit).'

Gather your friends and family, bring your tasting glass (essential), no food (provided on this occasion due to 'you-know-what' and join us in Elvina Bay at Paul and Pamela's boat shed, three jetties in on the south side of gorgeous Elvina Bay.

DATE:25th October 2020
TIME: 3pm
PLACE: Paul and Pamela's palace in Elvina Bay. (third jetty in on the south side of the bay)
