April signals the start of the testing season in the Western Region. Our first test will be the Derby/Zuchtschau in Cedar Fort, Utah. Tyler Smith will be the test Coordinator for the event which has attracted a full field for two days of testing. The next Derby/Zuchtschau will be in Walla Walla, WA on May 12th. As of this writing we are one dog short of a full test.
The NADKC 25th Annual Meeting will take place April 12th – 15th, in Lake Geneva, WI. This silver anniversary event should be special and we encourage all who can to attend. Later in this publication there is additional information about the event.
The DKV has finalized the translation of the new breeding regulations. There are a number of changes and we encourage breeders to read the regulations completely. The regulations are attached later in this publication.
DKV Breeding Regulations
The DKV has approved significant changes to the Breeding Regulations. These regulations have been translated and are now available for our member’s review. These new regulations went into effect for North American Breeders October 1, 2017 for the 2018 breeding year. Please review the regulations.
Any previously circulated translation or excerpts that you have seen should be disregarded and are invalid.
by Rafael Aguilar
My name Is Rafael Aguilar and I was born and raised in sunny San Diego CA. I currently reside in the outskirts of San Diego County. I am a single and have one son that is 15yrs and in High School. I am the VP of a family owned Commercial Landscape Construction and Maintenance company that services Southern California. I am a Horticulturist and Certified Arborist which works hard to support his hunting and shooting addiction.
I got into DK's a little over 6.5 years ago after I got my first ever hunting dog (in 2010), an American GSP which I still have today. His name is Patron's Wingmaster's 'Remmington'. My first ever hunting dog changed my life forever!! I did not grow up in a hunting family, but I always wanted to hunt so I made my dad take me. I got my hunting license at 13 yrs. old and my dad purchased my first shotgun a Mossberg pump which I still have. I dove hunted with an uncle a few times and stopped for a bit when I was in High school to play sports.
In my mid 20's I started up again and would hunt only dove, as I really didn't expand too much from there. In my 30's I saw some pictures in a hunting magazine with some guys shooting pheasants with dogs........
