Dear friends and neighbors:
In case you were unaware, , TONIGHT AT 6pm at the Hoboken Public Library there will be a screening of the anti-bullying short film “Alone with the Darkness”.  This is a topic that is important and touches everyone. Our Hoboken neighbor and parent Frank Gigante has made anti-bullying his passion. This is a short and moving movie that shows how bullying can unfold before our eyes. I saw this film when he first screened it in Union City in February and the audience included adults, teens and tweens. I think anyone who is a parent should come if they can.
I have the privilege of being tonight's host, and Mayor Bhalla is the special guest speaker. Frank will also show a 2 minute trailer of his first anti-bullying documentary "Breaking the Silence" in case you missed seeing the film when he screened it last spring.  This short documentary was inspired by the tragic story of Tyler Clementi of Ridgewood NJ, who after being cyber-bullied his first year at Rutgers, jumped off the GW bridge and ended his life.  The documentary highlights the alarming rate of bullying and how society can combat it.  Click on the links to read more.

I hope you can join me tonight!

PS - Also, a great opportunity to see our recently built, amazing screening room at the Hoboken Public Library!
