We're all geared up for opening day on Sunday... bring it on! This promises to be an exciting season, so as Van would say, "fasten your seatbelts!"
Before we get started, though, there are a few items of business we'd like to take care of.
1.) Tables at the Harp: We're continuing the policy of the last few years with regard to the tables on the main floor of the Harp. If you're going to sit there, we ask you to order from the menu, and, of course, respect (and tip!) your wait staff. If you don't want to order from the menu, there are more tables near the front of the bar and in the lower bar area.
2.) Halftime Buffet: While the buffet is open to all, we encourage everyone who partakes in it regularly to become dues-paying members of the Bills Backers. Forms are available at the buffet table and can be returned with the $10 dues to Alison, Jeff, or George.
Also with respect to the buffet, as halftime draws near, please keep the ramp and stairs into the lower bar area clear so that the food can be set up.
Did I mention that everyone should respect and tip the wait staff? They do a great job, and with the large crowd we expect for the opener, they'll be pretty busy.
3.) T-Shirts: Unfortunately, the new t-shirts will not be here in time for the opener. I'm told they are scheduled to be printed today (Friday) which doesn't give enough time for shipping. We'll have them for Week 2.
4.) Hurricane Katrina Relief: The larger Bills Backers chapters from around the country (Boston, NYC, Minneapolis, Portland, Los Angeles, Texas, Arizona and San Diego) are planning a national fundraising event for hurricane relief efforts on October 2, when the Bills play the Saints. We'll be sure to keep you posted as details emerge.
5.) Congratulations to Mike Farrell, the winner of the tickets to the Bills/Miami game at our pre-season party. A few pictures from that fun night are posted in the Photo Gallery section of our website.
If you're going to the game on Sunday, have a great time and a safe trip. We'll see everyone else at the Harp!
