We have just received the following email from Biante regarding 2013 / 14 V8 Supercar releases and the Brock VN - Please Read if you have any of these models on pre-order
Dear Biante Dealers,
As you may have already seen today we have announced four new 1:18 Scale models that we hope will excite you and your customers. Since we're on the topic of new models coming soon, we thought we would send you an update for some other projects.
As you're aware, over the past 18 months we have been developing new V8 Supercar models for the Holden VF Commodore and the Erebus Motorsport Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG in 1:18 and 1:43 Scales. As previously mentioned to our dealer network, the 1:18 Scale models will have a lower regular retail price of $150 and will be produced in diecast with fully opening parts (other than the boot) including detailed engine bay, racing interior, wheels and undercarriage.
The 1:43 Scale models will carry a RRP of $59.95 and be produced in closed body die-cast with clear windows and detailed interior. We believe that this combination of the lower price and previously mentioned features (particularly for the 1:18 Scale model) should be a great selling point for stores to convey to collectors.
Please find below the latest development pictures of the 1:18 Scale Holden VF Commodore V8 Supercar for your reference and promotional use. This is the first painted sample from the factory and you can clearly see that the attention to detail and features are very impressive for the price point. The next step for us is to produce and approve the final decorated sample and then go into production with the Erebus models not too far behind. We're currently expecting our first batch of 1:18 Scale Holden VF Commodore models to arrive around Bathurst.
Our current production plans are to produce the 2014 range of models first to meet team requirements and consumer demands with the previously announced 2013 range to follow shortly after.
Another highly anticipated model that we have been developing for quite some time now is the 1:18 Scale Holden VN Commodore SS Group A driven by Peter Brock and Andrew Miedecke in the 1991 Tooheys 1000 (B182706B).
There are rumors within the industry that we have lost the mould for this car (which is completely understandable given its prolonged delay). We can confirm that the factory that produced the VN for us did go bankrupt quite some time ago, leaving the VN mould in diplomatic and financial limbo. We did secure the mould for this model, however it has taken some time to find a new factory that we’re happy to proceed to production with. The R&D department has received a sample of this model from the new factory and are quite pleased with the results. Hopefully there won't be any further delays with this product and future VN releases including the recently announced Black VN road cars.
