Dear Neighbors,
This week marks the end of an era, as Council President Jim Doyle concludes more than 12 years of service on the Hoboken City Council.
At our December 17th meeting, I presented Jim with a proclamation from Mayor Bhalla on behalf of the City, thanking and acknowledging Jim for his distinguished service to the people of Hoboken.
Presenting Jim Doyle With His Proclamation
As a Council colleague, Jim’s thoughtful approach, expertise, collaboration, patience, and long-term perspective guided our work in ways large and small.
An accomplished environmental land use attorney with more than 30 years experience working for the US EPA, Jim served many years as a Hoboken Planning Board Commissioner — hearing countless land use applications, mentoring other Commissioners, and regularly reporting to his Council colleagues on the Planning Board’s work.
As a member of the managing board of the Hoboken University Medical Center, Jim helped guide HUMC through extraordinarily complex and difficult issues, and was instrumental in helping keep our hospital in Hoboken.
Please join me in thanking Jim for his distinguished service to our community, and wishing him well in all his future endeavors.
After Jim’s Last City Council Meeting
With best wishes to Jim and his family-
