Looking ahead to September's WNIE Live event, Advanced Rework Technology Ltd have teamed up with What’s New in Electronics for the fifth year running to bring you the IPC Hand Soldering Competition. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610G Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. IPC-A-610 Master IPC Trainers-MIT’s from IPC licensed master training centre, Advanced Rework Technology will serve as judges. More information on how you can register for this event coming soon...

In other news, latest sales figures released by the manufacturer authorised distributor (afdec) group within the Electronic Components Supply Network (ecsn) reveal that a slowdown in semiconductor sales prompted a ‘flat’ overall total monthly Billings result in December ’17 compared to the same month 2016, and an overall (7%) decline when compared to November ’17.
