Does Tide Dry Cleaners Use Green Cleaning?
Yes! We proudly use the GreenEarth Cleaning Process, a natural liquid silicon solution.

Essentially, GreenEarth is liquid sand. It is non-hazardous and non-toxic and is safe for your clothes, people, pets, and the environment. In fact, liquid silicone is the base substances used in many shampoos, conditioners, and lotions.

You can see the difference in your clothes when they are cleaned with GreenEarth. They look better, feel softer, and last longer.  Colors don't fade and whites don't gray or yellow they way they do with chemical-based cleaners, even after repeated cleaning. Fabrics are smooth and silky, and sweaters feel soft and warm.

The Science of GreenEarth

Liquid silicone is chemically inert. That means it doesn't react with fabric fibers. It gently carries the dirt and oil away. It's light weight allows it to penetrate fabrics without damaging trims or leaching dyes. That's why it's safe for even your finest garments - beads, delicate lace, silk, cashmere - you name it. And, GreenEarth doesn't cause shrinkage.

At Tide Dry Cleaners, we care as much about you and your clothes as we do about our world.
Caring For Woolen Coats and Clothing

Whether you’ve found the perfect wool coat for winter or you received some woolen knitwear as a gift, properly caring for it will help it to last for seasons to come.

General Care
  • Dry rain dampened wool garments on a flat surface.
  • Avoid direct heat.
  • For minor wrinkles, hang garment in the bathroom while taking a hot shower.
  • Let woolen clothes air out after wearing before putting them away in a closet or dresser.
  • Use sturdy wooden hangers for woolen coats.
  • Fasten the buttons to help the coat maintain its shape.
 Cleaning
  • Always read the care label before attempting to wash any woolen knitwear, as improper washing will cause shrinking and misshape the garment.
  • If machine washable - keep woolens separate from other garments. Wash similar colors together with a special detergent that is gentle on wool.
  • If hand wash only - soak in clean, lukewarm water with a special wool detergent for 10 minutes, then rinse throughly in clean, lukewarm water.
  • Dry woolen knitwear on a clean, flat surface. Do not wring or twist. Do not use a dryer.
  • If dry clean only, then take your knitwear to DELIA’S Cleaners.
  • Take all woolen coats to DELIA’S Cleaners instead of attempting to wash them yourself.
  • Only dry clean your wool coat when dirty, or at the beginning and end of the season.
Storing
  • Be sure your woolen knitwear is completely dry. Fold and store in a dresser.
  • Hang coats on a sturdy wooden hanger and if you hang pants, use a pants hanger.
New Year's Clothing Resolutions

Happy New Year!

Everyone is making resoultions on how to improve their lives in the new year. So, how about including a few that will help you look and feel more stylish all year long?

1. Change your color pallette. Instead of sticking with your "go-to" colors, add a few new hues. The 2019 fashion pallette includes colors like Princess Pink, Fiesta, and Mango Mojito!

2. Dress outside your comfort zone. Try a new style. Embrace your body, get into the style you've been dreaming about, and wear it with confidence.

3. Consciously dress everyday. Put thought into every outfit and accessory. Plan them out and wear them like you are walking a runway. Even if you're just running errands, you can look and feel best. After all, you never know who you might see!
Resolve To Go Green At Home

If you aren't sure where to start going green at home, try these simple five first steps.

1. Stop using disposable water bottles.

2. Choose reusable bags every time you shop - not just at the grocery store.

3. Re-use what you can, like take-out containers. Before tossing things out, stop and think about how you can re-use it, first.

4. Recycle. Recycle. Recycle.

5. Think before you buy. Hungry? Eat-in if the restaurant uses styrofoam or plastic take-out containers. Bored with your decor? Move things around before adding more.
