November 2018
So... here we are, fresh from our annual two-week stint in Houston, TX. The Market was fantastic... the best we've had in years & the Festival was... well, the Festival was fun, frantic, exciting & exhausting all rolled into four CRAZY days! We LOVED it, and I'll give you the details soon, but we're glad to be home!

And on another happy note, I'm pleased to annouce that we ARE in fact returning to AQS Paducah in 2019, but we'll be in a new location! You can look for us in the Expo room next Spring in Paducah & you can also check out the rest of our 2019 Show Schedule by scrolling down to the bottom of this post!  Smile

November "Eye Candy"
The bags you see below are among those that customers have shared recently on either our FaceBook business page, our Instagram feed or on our Group page on FaceBook. So thanks to EVERYONE! They were ALL great & here's a few of my favorites!
(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)
Cathy Giunta said that she definitely wanted to used "fun" fabrics for her Everyday Attache and I'd say she hit the mark for sure! Here's a peek at the interior.

Look who won 1st place in the New Mexico State Fair! Kristy Fink did a fabulous job on her Go-Go Compact & as far as I know, this is the 1st state fair winner ever for us!
Don Distler, our favorite "bag dude" is back w/a "Harley" version of our Sling Along design. In order to make this bag water-proof, Don used "PUL" for the exterior but said it was quite difficult to work with. Even so, the results were quite impressive as usual, right?
Stephanie Hedstrom made this amazing Quattro for her MIL and says she's been getting lots of attention with it! I especially love the little hedgehog Stephanie embroidered on the front pouch!

Erin Drews came to our booth at AQS Quiltweek Virginia Beach in order to show me pictures of the Everyday Attache she created because she was so proud of it & I can sure see why!

And I don't know about you but I'm totally obsessed Agnes Smith's version of our Sling Along design. This was an absolutely perfect fabric choice for this design and it was made all the better by Agnes' awesome fussy-cutting!
Gretchen Adams said she had loads of fun making her
Sling Along
bag and that she's totally psyched that she finished it in time to show it off in Houston! ( I sure hope she stops by my booth so I can see it in person!)

Here's Cheryl Suitt with a quartet of beautiful Go-Go Compacts! Cheryl said she's made them to go with her Renaissance Fair outfits which I'd LOVE to see!

Lori Gates created this "UCF-themed" Sling Along for her favorite "knight" for her daughter who is a freshman at UCF. My bet is she's the envy of everyone on campus!  :)

And finally, Here's Agnes Smith's 2nd Sling Along which she created as a gift for her daughter's 39th birthday!

The "Tech" Desk-How to See What you WANT to see on FaceBook!
We all know Facebook uses their algorithm to show us what they think we want in our News Feed. But guess what? We don’t have to be entirely at their mercy. Here’s how to tweak your settings: On desktop, go to your FB homepage. Click the three dots next to "News Feed" in the left column (under your name). Choose "Most Recent" from the dropdown if you’d prefer seeing things a bit more chronologically.
Additionally, choose "Edit Preferences" to specify updates you’d like to see first, unfollow people so you don’t have to see their posts (no unfriending required) and more.

As Funny As Real Life-

This is just a simple heartwarming story to hopefully make your day! Rademenes is a little black cat that has miraculously escaped death after a very close call caused by an upper-respiratory infection. He was originally brought to an animal shelter in Bydgoszcz, a city in Poland, to be euthanized, but against all odds, this little black kitty survived. Now with a second chance at life, Rademenes has decided to give back, & spends his days taking care of other animals in the shelter that he was originally admitted to. Workers at this shelter jokingly call this friendly kitty one of their “full-time nurses,” as he provides love & comfort to sick and injured animals. Click HERE to read more of this heartwarming story!

We're starting a new feature this month & I hope you enjoy it. I'm going to use this section of our Newsletter every month to share interesting posts I find online that may or may not have anything to do with sewing! This month I'm featuring an article I recently read detailing the intense grief we can feel when an online person we follow or care for dies, even though we've never met them! In this age of online relationships it seems pertinent to us all! The article I'm sharing this month was written by Cindy LaMothe & here's an excerpt below:

Last November, Kristi Pahr felt both shock and denial after learning that her online friend of over four years, Amy, had died suddenly. She says she still cries remembering those initial days of grief. Amy, she said, “was a better, more ‘real’ friend to me than most people I know in person.”

Featured Product of the Month- MORE "Cat-i-tude"

This month we're featuring fabric from Anne Lauer's Cat-i-tude collection which we started carrying last month! And guess what? We've added TWO additional accompanying fabrics from this totally yummy collection! Both feature deep saturated color with lots of gold highlights, just like the rest of the line!

This line would be just perfect for so many of our designs, particularly if you're a cat lover. I can easily see it dressing up a Quattro, or electrifying a Sling Along, or adding some additional "snazz" to an already snazzy Wrapsody, and it goes without saying that it looks fab on any of our Packlets!

Click here to get more info about these two new items! I think you'll agree, they both have "Cat-i-tude"!
