Tip of the Week

Did you know...

If you arouse fear, anger or distrust by coming on too strong or insincere on a call with a note holder, it will be almost impossible to repair the damage - no matter how long the note holder keeps you on the line.

A leader's job is not to do the work for others, it's to help others figure out how to do it themselves, to get things done, and to succeed beyond what they thought possible.

 President's Corner

In the note business a lot of us work alone from home and it can be hard to “get motivated” at the office—you try but nothing seems to work! You start to feel terrible, like you’re falling behind in your business. You’re bored, lethargic, and you don’t want to meet up with your friends because you don’t want to talk about what you’ve been doing. (Or, more accurately, what you haven’t been doing.) I’ve totally been there, too, and I’ve felt the frustration that comes from a lack of motivation when working. And I’ve also got some good news. This month I am sharing some things I have learned to try and stay motivated.

Feel like you’re doing the same old repetitive work, day after day? It’s not so stimulating, to say the least. But when you’re engaging lots of different skill sets—that’s fantastic for your motivation. WE need to have some skill variety to stay motivated sometimes.

Try to structure your days so that you’re working on different tasks (and thus, making use of different skills) throughout the day. For example, instead of doing follow up calls all day on Monday and then marketing on Tuesday, try to do both in smaller three-hour chunks each day. When you stimulate different parts of the brain, your motivation will be recharged. Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! TWITA!

Examining the mind of a Note Holder Part 3 of 3

There are individual and corporate investors who purchase these notes when the holder of the note wants to convert the note to a lump sum of cash. The notes are never purchased for the face value of the note. Note Buyers take into consideration... Read More...

Question of the Week

Q - Hi Jeff,

I am a licensed RE sales agent here in California, I am interested in becoming note broker/investor. I am willing to start as a note buyer to receive a commission for finding the client. My question to you, can I have my license with a RE agency and work as a contract buyer/note broker/investor. Have a great day!

                                                    ~ Bobbie

A – Hi Bobbie!

Thanks for the email! I am not a licensing expert but from what I understand if you have your CA RE Agent's sales license and it is hanging under a Broker then yes you can broker notes. I would think that your Broker would need to be aware of what you are doing and approve of it as well. Hope this helps!

                                                      ~ Jeff
