Next Wednesday sees the culmination of twelve months' work by Ralph (Snook) and his team, when we will be treated an audio-visual presentation of images from this year's Bristol Salon.
The presentation has been put together by Andrew Marker, ably assisted by Rachel Domleo and will feature many of the successful images/prints from the Salon, together with all the award winning images/prints, all of this set to an appropriate musical accompaniment. This is one of the highlights of the BPS programme and should not be missed - this is your chance to see some of the finest photography in the World.

Towards the end of last year, long-time BPS member, Gordon Stirrat, gave a very generous gift to BPS, when he donated the proceeds of the sale of his camera kit to the Society. This was a not inconsiderable sum and Council decided to put the money to good use, to which end the decision has been made to put it towards replacing the microphone system in the clubrooms. This has begun to show signs of its age recently (purchased 10+ years ago), so the speaker and Chairman will each have new microphones and we will be installing an additional one at the rear of the clubrooms for use of the Competition Secretaries on competition nights to announce names and titles and to announce the winners at the end. Probably of more interest to the Zoomers is the fact that we are also installing a couple of ceiling mounted microphones to pick up sound from the main body of the meeting room - this should mean that when questions are posed from the floor, you will hear the question and not just the answer, as is the case now! This upgrade is scheduled to take place on 31 March.
I'm sure that you will all join Council in thanking Gordon for such a generous gift.

Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
|
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include them in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).
|
IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes |
Please don't forget that if you change your
address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions,
it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know
so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that
you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk.
The distinctions we have on record are those
shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell
us we can't possibly know!
DO NOT REPLY TO THE NEWSLETTER. |

seemingly random collections of letters mean, just click here to see the list.
