Quote of the Week

People who ask confidently get more than those who are hesitant and uncertain. When you've figured out what you want to ask for, do it with certainty, boldness and confidence. Don't be shy or feel intimidated by the experience. You may face some unexpected criticism, but be prepared for it with confidence. ― Jack Canfield

 President's Corner

Some people think that those who work at a desk have it easy. Comfy chair. Playing on the computer all day. But those of us who ply our trade that way know it can take it's toll, physically. Here are some thoughts for Note Professionals that may feel over-worked and over-stressed who are also limited on time and resources to get the exercise or mental break they need.

Improve concentration and focus by deep breathing, stretching and twisting, which increase oxygen and blood flow to the brain. Reduce eye-strain and neck tension by adjusting your monitor to eye level, arm's length distance, and look away from your screen every 20 minutes. Increase productivity by eating foods fit for our daily tasks.  Eat light foods such as leafy greens, fruit and nuts for creativity.  Eat dense food such as carrots, beans, fish and poultry for detailed, focused work. Rekindle passion for the note business by approaching the smaller tasks with a sense of fun and accomplishment. Avoid an afternoon crash by eating whole grains, and no caffeine or sugars, at midday to sustain energy levels. Avoid tension with competition by periodically complimenting your adversaries. We all know you attract more bees with honey than vinegar.

Relax, recharge and de-stress. Diffuse burnout with five minute breaks - laugh, breath, walk, move and meditate. Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! TWITA!

Don't Hide the Facts

During the due diligence process you, as a note broker/consultant, have a responsibility, no a duty, to provide your funding sources with all of the information that you receive from the note holder.  Whether the information is good or bad, positive or negative, inconsequential or notable you must pass it on to the funding source...
