Hello all,
We are beginning work on SGU1 this week: 8/31 through 9/4.
At some point we are going to:
1. Install full GNSS GNSS antenna
2. Replace the CORS station
Positions: We expect that the radio will be down for an hour or two and that the resulting RTK corrected positions will be identical. However, be on the lookout for mm elevation changes and expect a change in the NGS logged elevations. (This seems to always happen when antennas are replaced.)
Radio: The radio broadcast will change from CMR+ (GPS+GLO) to RTCM3.3 (GPS+GLO+BDS+GAL MSM4 3-Second interval). The protocol, frequencies, baud rate will not change and you won't need to make any changes to your rover profiles if your rover automatically accepts 'whatever correction stream' it gets. (Most, if not all rovers will automatically switch over with no setting changes.
RINEX: The RINEX files that are sent to the NGS currently are RINEX2. These will change to RINEX3, full constellation. There may be a few hours to a day's lost data at the NGS. We should be able to back fill missing hourly data.
Now would be a good time to make sure you can connect to SGU2 as it will not be modified during this change and should be available continuously. Detailed instructions can be found here ( https://igage.com/out/CORS/SGU1_SGU2_SaintGeorgeUT/StGeorgeRTKBases_2022_003.pdf )
Once the receiver is exchanged, I will send you updated instructions for connecting via the internet. I believe that the address and port for RTCM3 will be identical to current. CMR+ will still be available, however it will only be GPS and GLO so you should not use it. I hope to add a direct NTRIP connection for drone connections.
