Monday

On Monday, I shared my Dover recap video that tackled a variety of topics, including Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick's awkward booth exchange, the angry words Ty Gibbs had for Bubba Wallace during Sunday's Cup race, and the post-race interview with Kyle Busch that ended with the Richard Childress Racing driver calling out his former Joe Gibbs Racing teammate's pit crew for their actions on pit road. On Tuesday, we released our first-ever Last 5 Races analysis and it revealed some pretty interesting things, including Chase Elliott has been the best in that time period with an average finish of 5.8. Tyler Reddick is a close second at 6.6

There was one surprise inside the top 10 with Noah Gragson and his average finish of 11.8. Notably missing were Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney. Click to read story.

Wednesday

Ryan Blaney is the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series champ and one of his responsibilities is acting as the sport's top ambassador. On Wednesday, the Team Penske driver participated in a somber ceremony as winner of the 2023 Coca-Cola 600, laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. It's part of a tradition for the winner of the previous year's crown jewel race and kicking off Military Appreciation Month. Click to read story

Thursday
Noah Gragson is off to an impressive start in his first year with Stewart-Haas Racing. The 25-year-old has recorded four top 10s in the first 11 races of 2024, including a career-best third-place result the week before at Talladega.

How does he compare to his teammates, other drivers in the field, and his predecessor, Aric Almirola? We found out. Click to read story

Friday

How far will NASCAR Cup Series teams go to find an advantage over the competition? A report in The Athletic revealed just how far, including teams buying extra parts and scanning them for disparities and using the best pieces in races while sitting on the rest or selling them to smaller teams. I visited with Jeff Gluck about the story (full interview) and we talked about this practice by teams and what NASCAR might do to address it in the future. Click to read story

Quote of the Week
“That’s a big, big miss right there. If you don’t correct that, this sport’s going to die not because of the competition aspect, but because economically it doesn’t make sense for any business people.”
