Issue #167 -June 2019
Hello & Welcome!
It's almost summer and for some that means the kids will out of school and underfoot, leaving little time for luxuries like sewing. For the unencumbered others, summer is a great time to hole up with your machine in a cool spot and get down to some serious sewing! But here's the deal... no matter which category you fall in, summer is a great time to line up those projects for the gifting season which will be upon us before you know it! But first... get a cup of coffee, find a comfy spot and spend a few minutes with this month's edition of "Kat Bytes".

June 2019 "Eye Candy"
The bags you see below are among those that customers have shared recently on either our FaceBook business page, our Instagram feed or on our Group page on FaceBook. So thanks to EVERYONE! They were ALL great & here's a few of my favorites!

RaDonna Belk made this Sling Along for her Mom who wanted her bag to made in bright colors!
Maureen Hawkins embroidered the pouch front of this Sling Along for her daughter who’s CRAZY about chickens & roosters!
Gail Wisun-Gooch used fake leather fabric and actually made her own vinyl iron-on design for this stunning Walkabout Wallet and LOVES how it came out! (So do I!)
Sharon Quilts was able to create this beautiful Sling Along entirely from fabric leftovers and what a gorgeous summer bag this is!
Diane Rhodes created this incredible Sling Along for a very dear friend! She even added a matching Card Caddy, Cash Keeper & a RolyNester keyfob! Click here to see them!

And was I ever impressed when Diana Duggin walked into our booth at AQS Paducah to show me this amazing Sling Along she created with faux leather! She did an amazing job!

This may be Kristy Fink‘s 1st Sling Along, but she says it won’t be her last! The owl was done by her friend Sandy Rogers and is based on the art of Geninne Zlatkis! Gorgeous!
Here's our hero Don Distler, back with yet another amazing Sling Along! He used faux leather and twill & added a digitized monogram with black metallic thread!  I love it!
And as a longtime lover of all things Laurel Burch, this Wrapsody REALLY does it for me! Barb McDole said she’s saved this fabric for quite some time, waiting for the “perfect” project and I’d say it was well worth the wait!
And finally, Gillian Turnbull says she’s on a roll now with this her 2nd Sling Along.  This bag is destined to be her daughter’s! Lucky girl!

For a tree pollen allergy sufferer like me, Spring is torture. Flowering trees are my kryptonite, and during peak bloom it feels like pollen stokes a six-week permasneeze from which there's no reprieve until the end of June.
