• Dance Parade is the largest multi-cultural dance event in the world! Featuring over 80 unique styles of dance, it holds the world record for cultural diversity through dance. More than 10,000 dancers join the parade on Broadway each year and since inception in 2007, nearly 1,000 different dance organizations have participated in the parade and festival.

 

 

• Dance Parade hires teaching artists to run residency programs in under served communities all year round. Over 100 classes are taught in NYC schools and community centers to over one thousand youth and seniors – many of whom would otherwise have no access to dance programs. These classes promote emotional and physical health, giving participants the opportunity to express their identity, communicate feelings and develop self-esteem while mastering new skills.

• Dance Parade is an important movement. Founded to advocate freedom of expression and cultural diversity, it was instrumental to bring about the 2017 repeal of the NYC Cabaret Law that restricted recreational dancing for 91 years. And we remain committed to championing cultural equity through dance, as well as ensuring dance remains a constitutionally protected form of expression.
