Dear Neighbors,

As we head towards September and back to school 📚 here are your August updates.
15th Street —Finally— Is Looking Good
For months, months, and months, a question I've often heard is: "When is 15th Street getting fixed?"
I'm excited to say now you can see the answer.
Last weekend, I was blown away by 15th Street’s transformation west of Willow, as well as major roadway improvements adjacent to 15th Street on Adams, Jefferson, Grand, and Clinton. Fresh pavement, new striping, smooth roadways, and protected bike lanes have appeared, all above new sewer and flood pump infrastructure that is turning our vision for a modern streetscape into reality.
These improvements are about much more than a smooth ride (which is awesome). Beneath the surface, new infrastructure connects the Northwest Resiliency Park to the NHSA pump system, new sewer and rainwater catch basins strengthen Northwest Hoboken’s flood resilience, replacing and regrading the archaic, industrial roadways that have frustrated drivers for years.
There's much work ahead, but the infrastructure foundation for our Northwest Redevelopment Zone — Hoboken’s newest neighborhood — is coming together. Drive through Northwest Hoboken, or walk over after enjoying the neighborhood vibe at the Uptown Farmers Market on a Saturday morning, and check out our progress!
Yup, that’s 15th Street west of Willow!

A More Welcoming Washington Street
This summer, we have seen a major improvement for Hoboken's central business district. Last week, Mayor Jabbour and the Hoboken Business Alliance rolled out a plan for 17 new Washington Street community benches, providing convenient places to sit, rest, and enjoy all Hoboken has to offer.
These bench locations were chosen based on your survey feedback. This is a great example of how your input led to meaningful improvements to make everyday life a little better — particularly for our seniors and folks with disabilities, many of whom reached out and let me know they needed more places to rest when visiting local businesses, commuting, or just getting their steps in to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
A New Bench at 11th & Washington!
