NEWSLETTER exclusive to subscribers, people who expressed an interest in the title or have pre-ordered.

A quick up-date on this new title, which is now on the presses. No matter how often you check pages (or indeed how many of you check them; four of us went through this!) we found errors in the first and second proof, mainly to do with techie stuff like borders and bleeds, but the third set came through fine and we could sign the job off. Stock should start to arrive next week so anyone who has pre-ordered or wishes to will receive their copy well in time for Xmas.
While this was going on, Steve Goldman has been out and about talking to people about his collection to promote the title. He had a chat on the BBC Radio Leeds morning show with presenter Rima Ahmed. Rima has done a few shows on Radio 4 this year and has an ear for a good story. Steve’s segment is on his Instagram page and worth a listen as it gives some insight into the collection: https://www.instagram.com/p/CyxuVQ1Rnxv/

Steve also had a chat with Radio 4's Front Row, though we're not sure if they will feature the book yet or not! On Birkenhead The Williamson Museum and Gallery have been throwing themselves into the spirit of the big exhibition of Steve’s sleeves which we mentioned last time (15 Nov 2023 to 27 Jan 2024 - check their site for opening times). On Friday 15th December they are throwing a Worst Records Christmas Party (this is already booked out!). Steve has put together a party mix of some of the strangest music from his records. I can vouch for how trippy some of this stuff is, after spending hours working on the audio for the promotional video... The Gallery are also now putting on a satellite show at a sister venue.
We have caught up on episode of the panel show Have I Got News For You via iPlayer too. Steve's collection was noticed by their producer; so Victoria Coren invited the panel to check out three of the images from the book. It was great to hear the groans and gasps of disbelief from the audience! The full show is up on iPlayer now but we have clipped out Steve's bit for our YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/y4HiDlJbLp4
The back cover of the book does warn people that the images in this book are hard to forget, and have now heard from one person who has been so transfixed by the Peter Rabbitt album in the publicity material that he has had to go off in search of a copy for himself! He has promised to send us a photo when he has found somewhere to display it where he won't see it late at night...!

There is another five star review due soon and a Northern newspaper's Saturday magazine supplement are covering the project shortly; more next time. Finally comes news that Mark Zuckerberg feels we are all likely to suffer palpitations at the sight of a man's bare knees, so he has banned us from showing the book cover on Steve's Instagram site. He and his mate Richard at Diversity PR (who have been doing a cracking job on the book) have been trying to get around this by painting out any 'naughty bits' (as the Monty Python generation will forever know them) and reposting it. I could point out that the orange idiot Donald Trump is allowed to spew his lies and hate all over Instagram without any censuring, but clearly MZ makes money off the back of that.
What a bizarre world indeed!
Thanks to everyone for their interest
