For the third year in a row Halsey McKay Gallery will participate in the Upstairs Art Fair with a focus on new paintings by Ted Gahl, pigmented plaster works on paper by Elise Ferguson, and sculptures by Graham Collins and Colby Bird.

Ted Gahl will open his sixth solo show at Halsey McKay on August 3rd. Titled Lamu, the show will be an installation of small works he made while at a residency on the Lamu Archipelago in Kenya. New mid-sized paintings made upon his return are available for the Upstairs Art Fair. Gahl received his BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York in 2006 and his MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island in 2010. Solo shows have been with Galleri Jacob Bjørn, Aarhus, Denmark; MIER gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Zach Feuer Gallery, New York, NY; DODGE Gallery, New York, NY; Retrospective, Hudson, NY; and with Halsey McKay. Group exhibitions include Freddy, Harrisburg, NY; Rod Barton, London, England; Romer Young Gallery, San Francisco, CA; V1, Copenhagen, Denmark, and The Journal, Brooklyn, NY. Gahl is represented by Halsey McKay Gallery. He lives and works in Connecticut.

Elise Ferguson lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. She has had recent solo exhibitions with Halsey McKay Gallery; 57 W 57, New York; Romer Young Gallery, San Francisco; White Columns, NY; and at Barton College, NC; and Illinois State University, IL. Her works have been included in exhibitions at Luhring Augustine, Team Gallery, Dieu Donne Papermill, The Sculpture Center, Andrew Kreps, CRG Gallery, Longhouse Projects, NY; Fourteen30 Contemporary, Portland; Norwich Gallery, England; Lothringer Dreizen, Munich; among others. She has been awarded several residencies including at MacDowell Colony, Socrates Sculpture Park, Dieu Donne Papermill, and was the 2014 winner of the EXPO Chicago Northern Trust Purchase Prize. Ferguson is represented by Halsey McKay Gallery.

Colby Bird received his MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2004. He has had recent solo exhibitions at Halsey McKay Gallery, New York; Grice Bench, Los Angeles; Fitzroy, New York; Lora Reynolds Gallery, Austin; University Galleries at Texas State University, San Marcos, and has been included in exhibitions at Aspen Art Museum, Aspen; Arthouse, Austin, and Hagedorn Foundation, Atlanta. His work is held in prominent private and public collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art. Bird currently lives and works in New York.

Graham Collins received his BFA from Corcoran College of Art in Washington and his MFA from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Recent solo exhibitions have been with Halsey McKay Gallery, New York, New York; The Journal, Brooklyn, NY; Almine Rech, Brussels, Belgium; Bugata & Cargnel, Paris, France; Jonathan Viner Gallery, London, United Kingdom. His work has been included in several group exhibitions, most recently at Anat Ebgi, Los Angeles, California; C. Grimaldis, Baltimore, Maryland; Marlborough Contemporary, New York, New York and He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Collins is represented by Halsey McKay Gallery.
