1. BIDT-COINS FROM HEAVEN
- the “new” “kids” have been around the block

Say “hej” to Bidt. As the sub-title reveals, the “new” “kids” from our most recent signing have been around the block a couple of times. In fact ¾ of the band are Crunchy Frog alumni, now reporting back for duty. Jesper Garmer “FZAT” Sand Christensen is one of the co-founders of the label, and has released records as part of THAU and Learning from Las Vegas. Both Morten Voigt and Per Dybdal were also part of the latter (but not at the same time). The fourth member and only truly NEW signatory is the singer and songwriter in Bidt, Rasmus Bregnhøi. A lot of Danes might also know the names Voigt and Bregnhøi from books, cartoons, magazines and newspapers since both gents are accomplished illustrators and cartoonists, each in their own right.

The Bidtstie boys hanging out at Crane Brothers

Bidt is grade A, top notch, Danish language indie-pop. It’s melodic and original. It’s musical poems dealing with grown-up issues, it’s dance music for the thinking homo sapiens (and animals identifying as humans), it’s ballads about relationships and viagra, it’s britpop that the Britons won’t understand. It’s – basically – worth a listen.

Bidt’s debut LP Tilpas utilpas (loosely translated: “Comfortably Uncomfortable” or “Adequately Inadequate” – and more tightly but less poetically: “Adequately Uncomfortable”) will be out on May 24th and needless to say (but here we go:) the artwork is a doozy. With two masterful illustrators on board, how could it not be? The 180g LP is delivered in a limited edition fine gatefold-sleeve including a 10 page 12-inch booklet with a drawing or illustration for each song. The motif from the front is also available as a 60x60cm heavy stock poster.

2. THE CRUNCHY SINGLES PROJECT CONTINUES
- no it’s not a dating app…. or IS it?
NEW SONGS FROM I AM BONES & POWERSOLO

It may turn out to be a dating app yet... Crunchy Frog music has been known to be a powerful aphrodisiac to some humans - specifically the ones identifying as animaliens. Meanwhile, the rest of us can of course enjoy the fruits of this quite fantastic project. As you may recall, we asked the 16 of our beloved artists that are active (or quasi-active) to write a new song and record it. Each tune will be released as a stand alone single, the band has full artistic freedom to create what they want IF they adhere to the only strict rule: each singe has to start where the previous left off. Beta Satan released the first single "I AM JACKRABBIT" on April 19th which ended on an A note. A fortnight later The Tremolo Beer Gut (featuring Zombierella) released "Codename Tremstar" which started out on an A note. Click the titles to listen to these fine offerings (if you don't use a streaming service, listen on our Bandcamp-site).

And so ... today is the day, that we reveal the brand new single from I Am Bones: "Restorer". A powerful muscular grungey tune - starting out where The TBG stopped (D major). Check it out post haste by clicking this shockingly undercooked piece of artwork.

"Restorer" by I Am Bones - better than pork sushi! Out NOW!

The next single (also starting out in D major btw, if you are at all interested, which you're likely not, which is why this parenthesis has gone on for way way WAY too long (sorry)) is by PowerSolo. Name of the song: "That Pop Song". This one also has an eye-catching cover. It will be out in 2 weeks, but you can pre-save the tune already now by clicking the cover.

Gimme some of that sweet sweet pöp... click to pre-save.

Stay tuned for the next singles from The New Madness and Sista Bossen.

3. EPO-555, DEATH TOTHE AND THE MOPEDS
RISE FROM THE DEAD
- Propdenoppop Klop is back baby - tickets on sale NOW!

Oh BABY. We are so looking forward to this night of the living dead bands and rock klops! We frankly almost can't believe this will be happening. Three of the crisp bands of yore will re-form to play at the one-night-only revival of Propdenoppop Klop on Saturday August 31st at Spillestedet Stengade. We are talking none other than the amazing epo-555, Death Tothe (aka Tothe International) and The Mopeds. This. Is. Insane.

Propdenoppop Klop was a monthly indie-rock club founded by a group of friends playing in the Copenhagen noise rock bands Many Voices, Death Tothe and THAU cirka 1991. Over several years the PDOPK-group grew bigger, and put on shows with experimental, noisy, weird and wonderful bands. Mostly up-and-coming, but also from time to time bigger acts like Stereolab and Psyched Up Janis. PDOPK hosted the first shows for groups like Mew and Murmur (Speaker Bite Me) that went on to become indie-household names, and also a lot of bands that went on to never play a second show. Every night had a theme and some sort of a surprise, such as a free haircut, free popcorn, some guy demolishing a piano with a sledgehammer and a chainsaw etc. Every klop-night in June would be an x-mas party and the big summer event was in December. Cuh-razy stuff alright.

What will happen on August 30th? Some very special musical performances from some sorely missed bands for sure. The original DJs playing... CDs!!! And something else. Better get your tickets now before all the other kids (and old timers identifying as youngsters) buy them. Click the flyer to visit the Facebook event for tickets, updates and community.
