THIS IS A JOINT EVENT WITH THE FOOD TEACHERS CENTRE WITH WORKSHOPS FOR FOOD TEACHERS RUNNING PARALLEL THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN FOOD OR TEXTILES WORKSHOPS OR DO A MIX OF BOTH.

  • Teaching the New D&T GCSE and need guidance from the exam boards?
  • Teaching the New Technical Awards and want advise?

  • Discover easy methods for pattern drafting and pattern adaptation?
Looking at different approaches to study, skills and techniques and developing high-quality student work that effectively meets the grading and assessment criteria.
Workshops from Each Exam Board:
Understanding Fashion & Textiles routes through GCSE, A Level and Technical Awards:

 OCR – Jonny Edge, Subject Specialist (Design & Technology)
 AQA – Pauline Treuherz, Senior Examiner 
 EDUCAS/WJEC – (Presenter tbc)
 Pearsons Edexcel invited but not yet confirmed

Plus a choice of presentations and practical workshops reapeated throughout the day including:
 
  • CAD for Fashion & Textiles (Techsoft) - Practise 2D Design software with the experts.
  • Exploring Contextual Ideas for Teaching Textiles GCSE & A Level (Nicky Simpson) –  An introduction to advanced skills and responses to inspirational artists and designers for both Art & Design Textiles and D&T Textile courses.
  • Introduction to Pattern Drafting for KS3/4 (Dawn Foxall) – A taster workshop creating easy blocks and pattern adaptions for teaching in the classroom.
