“[KRFK] has literally changed lives.”
Helping the next generation help the world.
Live shows. Live Streams. Lives Saved.
Last year, KRFK hosted Come Together, a first-of-its-kind, multi-day international teen music festival, which brought kids from across the globe to perform in venues across New York City. Most significantly, the festival succeeded in its mission to raise money for kids in crisis in both New York City and war-torn Ukraine.
This year, KRFK has set the stage for another go-round of Come Together as bands from across the globe will once again descend on the Big Apple to showcase their music in support of an incredible cause. Proceeds will go to Camp Homeward Bound, a sleep away camp for kids in the NYC shelters, and two organizations helping with the urgent need due to the war in Ukraine: Razom, delivering essential humanitarian aid, and Kidsave, an organization that has rescued over 30,000 people from Ukraine, many of whom are children and families.
Come Together takes place from June 8-11, 2023, at venues across New York City. Laundry Day, who performed at last year’s festival, is returning to headline on Sunday night. Laundry Day began making music in 2018 while attending Beacon High School in New York City and has since released their major label debut on Warner Records.
The festival will also feature a cornucopia of other bands and musicians from Belgium, the UK, Brazil, Colombia, Canada, India, Croatia, Australia, and across the U.S. -- NYC, D.C., Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Alaska.
But wait, there’s more.
“We’re so excited to be doing this again,” shares Lisa Schorr, co-founder of KRFK. “With more countries, more performers, and a larger impact. And now...we're bringing it to London!”
Impressively, just two weeks after taking over New York City, KRFK will bring the party to London for another Come Together Rock Festival from June 23 to June 25, 2023.
“We're extra excited to announce that two of our London shows will feature the Ukrainian all-girl teen band The Sixsters,” shares Schorr. “The Sixters are refugees from the war who have reunited to play concerts benefiting their homeland, while spreading a message of hope through music. We’re thrilled to share that KRFK got The Sixsters a spot at the Glastonbury Festival! They'll be coming to our festival right after playing Glastonbury.”
KRFK started in 2017 in Brooklyn with a small, community-based show to raise money for local nonprofit organizations as well as for AFCECO, a girls orphanage in Afghanistan. Because it was too dangerous for the girls in Afghanistan to perform in public, they performed for a New York audience over Skype and remained on to watch the local NYC bands play.
By 2019, KRFK started to fill larger venues and attract much deserved media attention from the likes of NBC News, Fox News, The Kelly Clarkson Show, WNYC, and The New York Times. In 2020, KRFK became a 501(c)(3) and took everything to the next level, despite having to pivot due to the pandemic.
“We throw incredible rock shows,” proclaims KRFK co-founder Dave Miller. “And then we give the money to kids in need. That’s what we do. And that’s what we’ll keep doing, again and again.”
