Hello from the future friends! I'm sending you my August newsletter a little early because I've had a couple of special events added to my schedule since last writing to you this month and I want to make sure you know all about them.
It's been a wonderful summer so far. Lots of music, family, sunshine and fun! I hope you have been enjoying your summer too! |
JAZZ.FM91 24 Hours Live Fundraiser! |
|
Tonight, July 26th, from 8pm-10pm I get to combine so many of my favourite things all in support of my favourite music station, the phenomenal Jazz.FM91. There will be friends - Heather Bambrick and Whitney Ross-Barris. There will be laughs because Heather and Whitney are two of the funniest people I know. There will be music as we each pick songs we love to play for you the listener. There will be singing with Ewen Farncombe on piano. I mean, what more could a girl ask for?
Tune in for this special 24 hour live on-air event July 26-27 on Jazz.FM91. The station is supported by its listeners and there has never been a better time to donate. They are also holding their third 50/50 raffle. The winners of the past two draws won a combined $100,000! You can buy tickets for the current draw until August 15th. (Ontario residents only.)

Picks and Bricks July 29 & 30 |
Monday, July 29th and Tuesday, July 30th my trio will take a swing over to the country side at the Picks and Bricks series in the Historic Distillery District in Toronto.
With Michael Shand on piano and Tim Shia on drums I'm revisiting songs from my Country Road jazz show from back in the day. (Back in the day meaning, before Covid!) I think the storytelling of country music and the in the moment imagination of jazz make a perfect pair. You may not know, but Michael is the music director for one of Canada's great country music artists, Johnny Reid. Working with Michael's expertise in the genre on this project is such a joy.
We will be performing outdoors at the Trinity Stage from 3pm-7pm on both July 29th and 30th. Come and enjoy the weather and the beauty of the Historic Distillery District. (55 Mill St, Toronto)
