'4th Annual Collegiate Trunk Event'
Terisa Griffin to host National Tour Benefiting 1st Time College Bound Students for her
Non-Profit Organization: Better Love Yourself
May 17, 2010 (Chicago, IL) – For the fourth consecutive year, Better Love Yourself founder, Terisa Griffin, is continuing to dedicate her time and resources to our nation’s college bound youth by providing them with essentials needed to adjust to college life! In a national tour that will hit Cleveland, OH; Memphis, TN; St. Louis, MO; Chicago, IL; and Monroe, LA. Ms. Griffin and the Better Love Yourself1 organization are truly making a positive impact on families that need guidance with the first year jitters! When asked about her motivation for pursuing such a philanthropic venture, Ms. Griffin says
“Through a very trying time for us all, I realize even more than ever that we must make a change and stand up for something!As an entertainer I know firsthand how you must strive hard to be successful. We often tell our youth to go to college but how can they if we set them up for failure. Better Love Yourself was designed to set them up for success. We need to take a chance to make a change!”
In each city, participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops and discussions focusing on college’s most sensitive and under addressed issues: methods to success, money management, healthy diet, safe sex, and even single parenthood for college moms. Guest Speakers include Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson – Better Love Yourself’s Ambassador of Student Affairs, and more! Through the generous support of donors, Better Love Yourself is able to provide supplemental scholarship for daily living, special projects and emergency funds.
Appropriately titled “The Trunk Event”, the trunks that recipients are given are filled with supplies that come in handy for during your first year such as detergent, towels, pens and paper, snack packs that help students on a rainy day. R&B entertainer & national recording artist, Terisa Griffin will headline the event in each city by taking the stage with her angelic, yet powerful voice to entertain all participants and student recipients at this year's Trunk Event!

Better Love Yourself is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist Young College Bound women and men by supplying them with dormitory and off campus living supplies. The organization mentors and addresses issues including positive self-esteem health and mental wellness geared to form a positive resolve in the lives of determined young women and men.
