       No matter what stage your note business is in, securing funds – and dealing with finances, cash flow, and accounting – are almost always at the top of your mind. Here are some thoughts on things you can act on in the next few months to make your financial picture more stable and sustainable for the rest of the year.

       Your note business is going to need to grow and evolve – and you can start working on it now by investing in your own self development. Identify ways to enhance and improve your skills, and focus on strengths and hone them. Also, recognize your personal challenges and take them on. Don’t be afraid to learn new and different ways of doing things. Remaining open-minded and interested will only help you keep your finances stable during periods of change.

       Investing in and securing channels through which you develop and market your services will help you grow your brand this year. Start by investing in tried-and-true ways for the note industry, but test out new methods to get in front of note holders.

       Finally, come up with an actionable plan to secure note business relationships. Form partnerships (financial, marketing, technology) by establishing investors, vendors and suppliers you want to work with, and seek out alliances and entities that will compliment your business. Do not be afraid to reach out to people that can help you achieve your key goals and give you a competitive advantage. Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! Q - Hi Jeff,

          Have you ever tried Google Ad Words? I see a lot of note companies that use Ad Words but I am skeptical of how cost effective they are.

A - Hi Matt!

       Google Ad Words are tough because of the same reason as direct mail (getting DIRECTLY to note holders that are receiving payments on a note) it is very hard to target JUST the note holders. Do I use it, YES, have I figured out how to make it cost effective yet, NO. Am I still trying to figure it out, YES. Hope this helps!
