Winter sports are in action this week. It is amazing how time marches by so quickly. We are already 1/3 through our school year.

Next week Monday, we will begin our Class Penny War which supports “Shop With A Cop” here in Fremont. 100% of the money goes towards the program which benefits disadvantaged children. The first year we did this, it was fairly small. Last year, it blew up. We were counting money for hours after school every day. It was rewarding but exhausting for the volunteers. Over the summer, I purchased an industrial coin counter at an estate sale. I will be loaning the counter to the school for the duration of this event. My wife has told me that once it leaves the house, it can’t come back.

We are also be hosting a Toys For Tots drive. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy. We have a receiving box in the main office.

Today we attended a great conference on SAT and the Khan Academy. You will be receiving some information on how to access some incredible tools through the Khan Academy within the next two weeks.
