Wednesday 15 April

Next week we welcome Paul Berriff back to BPS with his talk called Wrong Place - Right Time.

Paul says the following about his talk:

The presentation will feature my work as a young press photographer in the 1960s to my move from stills photography to television documentary. Being in the right place at the right time to capture the perfect image. My close up work with King Charles during his Royal Navy career when he was in his 20s. My near death experiences with a camera and surviving the collapse of both towers as they fell on me on September 11th. 2026 is the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
You can see more about Paul by visiting his website at www.paulberriffproductions.co.uk

However, if you'd like a taster of the talk, here are a few images from the night:

Sound System
Following last week's first use of the new sound system, this week, in addition to the Chairman's microphone, we used the speaker's new microphone. Similar to last week's request, if you experienced any sound problems, will you please email Matt webmaster@bristolphoto.org.uk, explaining in as much detail as you can, the problem(s) you experienced - it's no good just to say "it wasn't very loud". This will enable Matt to either fine tune the system at our end or get the installation company back to try to resolve the problems.

Hopefully, after this week, everything will be hunky-dory and everyone, whether in the clubrooms or at home, will be able to benefit fully from the new system.

DI Group
A reminder that next Digital Imaging Group Meeting is this coming  Monday 13 April at 7.30pm.

Meetings are informal and take place at the clubrooms and via zoom.

Please feel free to share anything you have been working on and if anyone would like to show images they have taken at the studio/practical sessions, we would love to see them. There is still room for more images.

Please send them to dig@bristolphoto.org.uk by Friday 10 April. Please number your images in the order you would like them to be viewed and resize to the usual competition size, not essential but it helps to keep the files to a manageable size.

I look forward to seeing you all.

Rachel Domleo.

Jazz will return if we haven’t scared her off. Mike is still discussing what the theme will be, but one option is her interpretation of a 1900s style offering all sorts of creative opportunities. In true Blue Peter fashion here are a few Mike prepared earlier:

Following the success/interest in the TWOsday shoots with Kornelia, Mike will be looking to organise some more in May..... watch the newsletter later this month for details.... and respond quickly to secure a place!
