The KBCS PTA Bylaws state that the nominating comittee must be comprised of three or five members, always being an uneven number. The election of the committee must take place during a PTA General Meeting at least one month before the election of the officers .
The Nominating Committee will be elected at our 3rd General Meeting for this school year on Thursday, March 8th at 8:45 a.m. in the Media Center.
If you are interested in serving on the Nominating Committee or would like more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org and write "Nominating Committee in the subject line. A PTA board officer will contact you with further details. The deadline to submit your name as a Nominating Committee candidate is March 7th.

DECIDING WITS 2018-19 at KBK-8
WITS (Wellness in the Schools) had its MDCPS debut at KBK-8 and Charles Drew K-8 over the past two years, funded by a collaboration between the Key Biscayne Community Foundation and KBCS PTA. As we now begin planning for next school year, KBCS PTA will have to decide if we would like to continue funding the program. Over the past two years, as WITS began its presence in MDCPS, the program has developed from the original goal of providing menu changes in the cafeteria, as WITS provides in the the New York Public Schools, to a multi tiered, interactive, school based nutrition program with chef lead WITS LABS (seasonal cooking classes), WITS BITS (short nutrition lessons), Cafe Days (visits by local chefs to sample their creations in cafeterias), WITS tastings (healthy tastings offered to students), Family Fitness Fun Nights and now growing produce in our gardens.
Options for WITS at KBCS at this point are to continue with a full time chef implementing all of the WITS elements at about $20 per student, lowering to a part time chef implementing about half of the elements or choosing elements a la carte and paying for them separately.
KBCS PTA will solicit the input of KBK-8 parents as we make the decision for WITS at KBK8. WITS representative, Allyce Perrit-Gentil, will be at the PTA General Meeting on Thursday, March 8th to discuss next year.
