Paddy O'Quigley's 0.5K Winter Dash

If'n ya hadn't heard, on January 21 (that's this Saturday) we're holdin' a 'lil bit of a run race.

'Tis just 0.5K - that's once around the building - but we don't expect you to finish it all at once.  Remember to stop and enjoy a warm beverage from the Halfway House, catch your breath, share a bit o' wit and wisdom, and then kick it on around the rest of the building.

What's it all for?

The Brian M. Anselmo Foundation ( is a grand organization that does great work for children's and family causes including Charlie's House, Operation Breakthrough, Bags of Fun Kansas City, Noah's Bandage Project, Kids TLC, and more.  

About The "Race"

'Twill be held January 21 at 11am, followed by a kids run thereafter.  Each racer will receive a drawstring backpack stuffed with gear like

  • Stockin' Cap - with the race logo, of course
  • A "0.5K" race sticker (ya know, for braggin')
  • A complimentary warm beverage at the Halfway House Aid Station (plus hot cocoa for kids)
  • Lots of other good stuff from our neighbors and sponsors
The race itself will cost just $35 for pre-registers, or $40 on the day of the event.  Kids 12 and under are just $10.  Register early and lock in your spot in this most exclusive and uncompetitive field.

Full Count Lawns (816-853-3503) - owner DJ Nolen provides a full slate of lawn and home care services, and is also a well known personal baseball coach.  He'll be there Saturday with his radar gun, readin' off the speeds that kids can throw to our catcher.
State Line Animal Hospital ( - their purpose is simple: To love on people by loving on their pets through high quality veterinary care. They're located near State Line and 435.
Cy Financial ( - they help their clients create retirement income strategies and meet their financial goals...they also do a lot of good for other charities and their community.
European Wax Center ( - with three metro-wide locations, they help clients reveal and maintain beautiful skin.  You can research them online and make a reservation (but wait for your race package and their gift that'll be found inside).
A Raffle Too!

Three packages are goin' home with someone - may as well be you.  Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20:

Golf Package:  Golf for four at Wolf Creek with lunch and a couple sleeves of Pro-V1x golf balls.

Shop 'n Spa Package: Combine a spa experience from Radiant Skin & Beauty with a trip to the French Tip Nail Salon accompanied by a great bottle of wine and a certificate for dinner at Garozzo's. 

Kids' Horseback Riding Party: A party for 8 at Woods Edge Equestrian Center, a package of toys from Fat Brain, and birthday treat from 3 Women & an Oven.


Super Sunday Funday
Even though our Chiefs aren't gonna be there, 'tis still an entertainin' moment that needs to include good friends and good food.
Whether ya spend the day here or at home, we want you to enjoy good food on Super Sunday, so we're offerin' up 8 Big Jumbo Wings for just $6.99 -- dine in or carry out. That's right -- you can take home a great price on our famous wings.  We'll be takin' takeout orders now.  Get yer order in before we run out!  Of course, don't forget the rest of our wonderful menu created by Mike the Chef or these drink specials that day:

  • $3.50 Bloody Marys (prepared with the new old recipe)
