Chase Elliott snapped his 42-race winless streak on Sunday at Texas. What many don't know is it almost didn't happen because the driver made a mistake late in the race.
I asked the Hendrick Motorsports driver about the blunder in his post-race press conference and he talked about how he was concerned it might have cost him the race. Click to read story.

Chris Buescher is a Texan. I'm a Texan. I sat down with the RFK Racing driver – conveniently enough – at Texas Motor Speedway and we talked about his Lone Star racing roots, including what it was like to leave his home and family behind at age 15, why he enrolled in Dale Carnegie classes as a teen, and the reason he believes Texas is better than North Carolina and, interestingly, it has to do with speed. I break it down with an analysis of drivers and teams that features easy-to-understand graphics with statistics you'll find on each race broadcasts, including Top 5s, Top 10s, Top 20s and average finishing position. Plus, there's a team trend analysis that shows how the drivers on each respective team compare to each other. Click to watch analysis.

Before the race at Texas I had an opportunity to sit down with Goodyear Director of Racing Greg Stucker. I had a lot of questions about the excessive tire falloff at Bristol, if the company had identified any reasons for it (they have), as well as discussing the plans for the future and addressing issues on short tracks. Stucker talked about the company being more aggressive, including possibly pursuing a tire scenario that is used in F1 and IndyCar. Click to read interview.
