Here at the Richmond Memorial Library, we
truely have something for everyone! This fall, the library will be
offering Spice of the Month kits for adults with the hope of introducing
our library users to spices they may not be familiar with. Each kit
will include a sample of that month's spice (October's is Za'atar)
along with two simple (nothing complicated whatsoever) recipes that the
spice can be used in. We'll also include a little information about the
spice. Available in limited quantities, while supplies last, on the
third Tuesday of the month. October's kits are gone but November's kits will be here in a few weeks!
|

functions on your phone, tablet, or laptap, or even learning how to use a
computer program like the Microsoft Office Suite, Tech Time can help.

There are still openings in an Encore Presentation of our November Crafternoons with Carrie programming series, designed specifically for adults. Held on Wednesday, November 20, at 2 pm, Carrie will teach participants how to make a paper leaf fall garland using recycled book pages. Registration for this series will be required and can be done online or by calling 860-295-6210. The program will typically be held in our upstairs meeting room but we are more than happy to relocate it to our first floor children's room if there are accessibility issues.
Please note that we're making garland and not a wreath ... the image below is just to show the general concept of the paper leaves.

American Job Center Series
|
Are you (or is someone you know) looking for a new job, trying to restart or jumpstart your career, or in need of specific job skills training? We will be partnering with the American Job Center over the next few months to offer drop-in (no appointments needed) assistance with resumes, job search assessment, career coaching, computer literacy, mock interviews, and on the job training programs. If this is something that interests you, stop into the library on the first Tuesday of the month. Our next program will be held on November 5 from 5-7 pm. The American Job Center is a one-stop career center that offers free help to job seekers for a variety of career and employment related needs.
Update: Pre-Registration is now available online in 15 minute time slots (your appointment can run longer than 15 minutes ... this just helps us gauge the interest so the American Job Center knows how much help they will need to have on hand). This can be done online or by calling 860-295-6210.
