Hi Friends -
Hope all is well. The road trips have started back up for me after a few weeks off. During my time at home I completed the new Mel Bay Book - My First Country Guitar Picking Songs. Look for it in a few months at www.flatpik.com For the picker or the ultra beginner with the yearn to learn notes and country classics.
I've had two great trips this month with one more to go. Hatteras (Buxton), NC was first. This was my 16th year same weekend going to Hatteras. Our leader, John Couch, with the aid of Hatteras Realty did a great job filling up this workshop. Princess Donna came with me and we spent an extra day as tourists. Robin Kessinger played the concert with me. Great time and super weather.
The Weather: Next was Clermont FL where you would expect great weather, but man was it cold. Waking up to TN temperatures of 28 IN FLORIDA!!!
Anyway, I did my 3rd annual weekend at Cornerstone Music and it was the largest one yet. Already rescheduled for the 2nd weekend in January next year and we've added in the Beginner/Intermediate mandolin workshop for Thursday night. I can't wait to get back there. Thanks to Mr. B, Peter and Kris!

January 28: Jamie Laval - “One of the hottest fiddlers out there” (Asheville Citizen-Times) and “The next Alasdair Fraser” (Scotland Press and Post), Laval will perform selections from his newly released album Murmurs and Drones in a fun-filled musical evening tracing the immigration of the Scots-Irish to Appalachia. The program will include amusing stories along with the toe-tapping melodies that highlight historical and cultural ties throughout the Celtic Diaspora.

These are recorded in the style of Steve's popular 3 Level system. Songs written out for beginner, intermediate and advanced players written in notes and tablature in PDF form in one download package along with audio instruction MP3.
Something new from Steve in the lesson department. Keeping in the style of his ever popular Bluegrass Guitar Solos That Every Parking Lot Picker Should Know, Steve is producing single song downloads. These are sheet music PDFs with Audio Instructions written for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Flatpickers. The lessons are Three in One and are available online for $10 each. You make the purchace then receive an invoice showing the title. Click on the title in the invoice and you will be prompted to download now.
The first set of six songs are ready for you to work on. All of these songs have been carefully written for beginner, intermediate and advance - all in the single download. You will get all the written music in a PDF form written in notes and tab for guitar along with an audio instructional lesson from Steve. The audio is usually 30 minutes and the PDFs are 6-10 pages depending on the song.
