    Pittwater's Long Lunch & Summit

This September Mona Vale will host the Enliven Pittwater Village Economies Summit 18-20 September – an event that encapsulates making metropolitan villages places where people want to live, work, play and shop.

Not only a first of its kind for the Northern Beaches, the summit is a first for Sydney.
For locals and visitors the inaugural Mona Vale ‘Long Lunch’ on Saturday 20 September will be a great free event for the whole community. Bungan Lane, Village Park and Mona Vale’s thoroughfare will be injected with a mix of entertainment, culture and a number of delicious food choices. Join us between 11am-4pm.

On the more formal side of the summit, Pittwater will welcome small businesses, local government and the broader community to learn from industry experts and scholars about issues and trends facing metropolitan village centres. The business event on Friday 19 September is a must for local businesses wanting to boost our local economy and plan for a prosperous future.

    History Week Talk

    THE GREAT WAR

The Battle of Fromelles in July 1916 was the first battle for the Australian troops on the Western Front. It was an unmitigated disaster that still impacts on the lives of many Australian families.

It is a fascinating but little known story and Jim Munro will explain the battle, its reasons and why it was such a disaster, and tell the story of the “missing” soldiers and the quest to find them, identify them and honour them.
Jim Munro is the Vice President of the Families and Friends of the First AIF,
a group dedicated to perpetuating the memory of the service and sacrifice
of the soldiers who served in The Great War 1914-1918.
