Ranking #3 on BeatPort’s overall chart, and with ten “Top 10” spots on Hype Machine, Justin “3LAU” Blau - rising house music DJ and college student - is taking the electronic dance movement to the next level: charity. Currently, 3LAU is raising another $25,000 for Pencils of Promise by donating $1 from every ticket at 22 dates of his 3LAU Your Mind Tour.

When 3LAU's remix of "Back To New" came out on Beatport on April 30th (and hit top #3 on the site's overall chart), Justin pledged to donate all proceeds from the sale of the track to Pencils of Promise. “’Back to New’ Gives Back to PoP” was a global initiative by 3LAU to raise $25,000 for Pencils of Promise (PoP), a non-profit organization that builds schools for underprivileged children in developing nations such as Guatemala, Laos, and Nicaragua. “Education is a right that all human begins should have,” reiterates Blau, “yet there are 75 million children just like us without access to it. I’m ready to help that change. Let’s harness the power of the dance music movement to give something real: to give back.”

Within 48 hours of the song's release, 3LAU achieved 20% of his goal and as of June 21 he had raised the entire $25,000 needed to build the first school. Groundbreaking just began on the Justo Rufino Primary School in Guatemala

3LAU is back on tour and back to fundraising, teaming up with his 90,000+ Facebook fans to raise the necessary $25,000 to build yet another school and bring awareness to global education. He will be hitting up major markets and headlining venues such as The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, Webster Hall in New York City, Bottom Lounge in Chicago, and more. Over the course of 22 shows on tour he will donate $1 from each ticket sold. Blau is calling upon his fans to help him accomplish his goal by joining the 3LAU fundraising group and creating their own Impossible Challenge.

3LAU is a progressive house producer and DJ with a background in piano, guitar, and drums. Combining top-40 acapellas with instrumental bangers, 3LAU kickstarted his career by producing signature mixes that transcend the traditional definition of a bootleg, seamlessly weaving tracks that breed dance floor filth. Now, the next phase begins, as 3LAU prepares to release his next original track and eventually sing on his own records. With a background in piano, guitar, and drums, Justin first produced indie/folk, but a trip to Sweden in the summer of 2011 opened his eyes to the world of house. The idea to work with Pencils of Promise stemmed from Justin's goal to combine his philanthropic interests with his love for dance music. 3LAU is adamant about giving back by working with the community that has catapulted his career.
3LAU Your Mind Tour is continuing all the way through December. He will be taking his sound to major cities across the expanse of the US, including Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Dallas and many more.
