Kate's Corner
We are nearly at the end of the musical sea voyage we have travelled together for the past twelve weeks. What an experience! If we extend the metaphor of sea or water travel, at the beginning we all piled into a little rowboat with holes in it, and the music felt very challenging indeed! Little by little we graduated to bigger and better vessels, to the point where I think we all deserve a ride on the stately sea ship we sing so passionately about. Finally! Finally, we are ready to sing our hearts out in a performance that will take its place alongside other magnificent performances sung by our chorus over the past 50 years.
Got to go bake cookies for the reception! See you soon!

CCO Tickets Available
From Janie Leff:
Cayuga Chamber Orchestra’s final concert of our sellout Chamber Series!
Mendelssohn and Auerbach
Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM
First Congregational Church of Ithaca
This powerful all-string program opens with Auerbach’s 'Quartet No. 3, Cetera Desunt,' a darkly expressive, fragmented work exploring absence and raw intensity. The next piece, 'Soul,' composed and performed by Concertmaster Christina Bouey, is meant to awaken the listener’s emotions in the moment. The performance finishes with Mendelssohn’s 'Octet in E-flat Major, Op. 20,' a dazzling masterpiece of youthful energy, lyrical grace, and thrilling counterpoint."
