The National Folk Festival is offering a number of exciting pre-Festival Master Classes in 2018. Bookings are NOW OPEN.

Classes will be held off site at Ainslie Arts Centre and will consist of 3 sessions over two days (Wed 28 & Thurs 29 March). These provide a wonderful way not only to connect with some of our international artists in an up-close setting but provide first-class tuition from some of the world's best international musicians/teachers in their respective fields.
Booking early is recommended as numbers will be strictly limited.
Volunteer Applications for the 2018 Festival will open on Wednesday 1 November, 2017

With more than 1200 positions across 45 different teams, finding a position that suits you has never been easier. For a minimum 20 hours of volunteering you will receive a Season+Camping ticket to the Festival, access to the Volunteer Centre, and become an integral part of our Festival team. 
We are also on the lookout for Area Coordinators and Assistant Area Coordinators. These passionate volunteers take on responsibility for managing an area of the Festival and the volunteers in that area.

This unique mug features artwork by Paul Summerfield and displays the floral emblems of the Festival’s featured states, the Tasmania and Victoria. 
The design on this mug is only available by pre-order until 30 November 2017 and can be purchased online by all Festival attendees or by calling the Festival Office on 02 6242 5944.
The mugs are only available to Festival attendees and will be ready for collection at the on-site Festival Shop over the Easter weekend. No mugs will be sent via post or hand delivered.

Transatlantic Celtic folk power trio, the JUNO Award winners The East Pointers, are Prince Edward Island fiddler Tim Chaisson, banjoist Koady Chaisson and Ontario guitarist Jake Charron. Their second album ‘What We Leave Behind’, released in September 2017, continues to blur the lines between traditional and popular music and develop a devoted fanbase around the globe. With a captivating balance between their traditional-sounding instrumental tunes, and songs, The East Pointers have spent the last two years solidly touring Canada, the US, the UK, and Australia in support of their JUNO Award winning album, Secret Victory.

Folk Alliance Australia is proud to be teaming up with Australian Music Week to hold our 2017 Folk Alliance Conference as part of this important Australian Music Industry event in Cronulla, Sydney, NSW.  The partnership between FAA and AMW gives FAA the opportunity to profile our genre to broader music  industry networks and in doing so ensure that Folk has a place in a range of national and international market places and is valued in the big picture within the music industry.
