de veertigste dag   the fortieth day
‘Op Stille Zaterdag verblijft de Kerk bij het graf van de Heer, terwijl zij terugziet op zijn lijden en sterven, en zijn nederdaling ter helle overweegt.’
 
Dit en nog meer lees ik over Stille Zaterdag. Het is een dag van stilte en bezinning. Juist op deze dag ben ik aanwezig in Museum Gouda omdat hier het werk ‘de kruisiging’ en ‘communio sanctorum’ (heilige gemeenschap) worden tentoongesteld.
 
Mijn werk ‘de kruisiging’ (226x366cm) bevat veel meer dan de titel verklapt. Hetzelfde geldt voor het minuscule werk ‘communio sanctorum’ (10x10cm). Alleen deze middag geef ik meer tekst en uitleg over beide werken.

‘On Holy Saturday the Church remains at the Lord’s grave, while looking back on His suffering and death, and commemorating His descent.’
 
This and even more I read about Holy Saturday. It is a day of silence and reflection. Especially on this day I will be in the Gouda Museum, where the works of art ‘The Crucifixion’ and ‘Communio Sanctorum’ (Holy Communion) are being exhibited.
 
My work of art ‘The Crucifixion’ (226x366) includes more than the title gives away. This is also the case for the small work of art ‘Communio Sanctorium’ (10x10). Only during this afternoon I will explain in detail both works of art.
