Quote of the Week

I have lived by one crucial principle since I was 24 years old. I don't blame or complain about things like the economy, the government, taxes, employees, gas prices, or any of the external things that I don't have control over. The only thing I have control over is my response to these things.

― Jack Canfield

 President's Corner

Stay ahead of the curve.  A note business can't afford to be rooted in the present and solely focused on the day-to-day. It's crucial to keep one eye focused on the future, including upcoming movement in the note industry. If you aren’t anticipating the next big thing, you're destined to fall behind. Successful note business owners study trends and anticipate what's coming around the bend. This allows them to nimbly adapt and evolve.

Stay current on emerging issues in your field by faithfully reading industry publications and websites. Keeping pace as the note business changes assures you'll have your finger on the pulse to predict what note holders and investors will want -- and which direction your competition might move.

Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! TWITA!

Question of the Week

Q - Hi Jeff,

You said in your last question and answer email that if you are in CA you must have a RE Broker's license to do notes at all. I do not have a broker’s license in any state. I live in TN. I have received calls from note holders in CA. Would I need to get a CA broker’s license in order to broker CA notes. Thank You.

                                                     ~ John
Hi John!
Thanks for the email! I am not a licensing expert but from what I know to broker a note secured by CA real estate you are supposed to have a CA RE Broker's license. Here is an article I wrote that explains it all - http://www.armstrongcapital.com/ArticleCALicensingIssue.htm

Hope this helps!

                                                     ~ Jeff
