Enjoy a ride in the only cable car in the Caribbean! This amazing Teleferico is located in Puerto Plata, and visitors can ride up to the peak of Mt. Isabel de Torres, a 793 meter high mountain within the city. On the top of the mountain there is a fortress museum and a statue of “Christ the Redeemer” (similar to the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

A visit allows for breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding area of Puerto Plata, where you can also enjoy refreshing breezes, and the beautiful surrounding of tropical gardens. The mountain has been declared a protected Nature Reserve due to the great variety of wildlife and flora.

Hours of Operation: Monday to Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cable car circulates continuously. The last run of each business days occurs fifteen (15) minutes before closing time, 5:00 p.m.

Sea Horse Ranch is a proud sponsor of the 3rd edition of 100 km del Caribe – Dominican Republic, which will take place from June 7-11, 2016.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016 the first stage of the course is held entirely on the famous beach of Cabarete, with the starting point at Sea Horse Ranch, and heading east for 6.2 miles, finishing by Viva Wyndham Tangerine hotel. The deadline to register is May 15, so hurry to sign-up today!

100 km del Caribe is a 5 stage, multi-day competition, held on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, and covering a distance of approximately 100 kilometers. The race is open to runners and walkers, with the option to participate in one or more stages of the race. The second to fifth stages of the race will be held in Puerto Plata, Sosua-Cabarete (El Choco National Park) and Las Terrenas.

This competition brings out the spirit of challenge, and a chance to participate in a great international event amidst stunning landscapes. The cross-country race course varies from mountainous terrain, to lush tropical settings, to scenic sandy beaches. Spectators are welcome, so come and cheer the participants on.
