There's still time to dive in.

Here is a message from Jason about his upcoming songwriting workshops in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne:

                Why You Should Attend

Taking Your Songs to the Next Level

The most important thing I learned working in A&R at RCA Records is that IT’S ALL ABOUT THE SONGS. It doesn’t matter how great you sing if your songs are anything less than exceptional.

There are reasons why some melodies stick in the brain and why some lyrics evoke emotion. In my upcoming 2-day workshops we’ll examine the tools that propelled songs in various genres to the top of the charts. Then you’ll be guided to begin new songs that incorporate these techniques. You’ll leave not only with new skills-but with new songs begun.

The first (15) who register in each city are guaranteed a song critique. Additional critiques will be selected at random, as time permits.

For a list of topics, additional info & registration visit: http://www.cmcmusicproductions.com/home/

I'll look forward meeting you, hearing your music, and helping you achieve your goals.

Cheers!
Jason Blume

About Jason:

Jason Blume’s songs are on three Grammy-nominated albums and have sold more than 50,000,000 copies. One of only a few writers to ever have songs on the pop, country, and R&B charts, all at the same time--his songs have been recorded by diverse artists including Britney Spears, the Gipsy Kings, the Backstreet Boys, Jesse McCartney, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Scandinavian star Christian Ingebrigtsen, Japanese superstar Tomohisa Yamashita (#1 debut), and country stars including Collin Raye (6 cuts), the Oak Ridge Boys, Steve Azar, and John Berry (“Change My Mind,” a top 5 single that earned a BMI “Million-Aire” Award for garnering more than one million airplays).

His songs have been included in films and television shows including “Scrubs,” “Friday Night Lights,” Disney’s “Kim Possible” and “First Kid,” MTV’s “Next Thing” and “Taking the Stage,” “MVP,” “The Dating Guy,” “Barbie of Swan Lake,” “Dangerous Minds,” “Kickin’ it Old Skool,” “Fame,” “The Guiding Light,” “The Miss America Pageant,” and many more.

Jason Blume is the author of 6 Steps to Songwriting Success: The
Comprehensive Guide to Writing and Marketing Hit Songs, Inside Songwriting: Getting to the Heart of Creativity, and This Business of Songwriting, (all published by Billboard Books). Acknowledged as one of the world’s top songwriting instructors, Blume developed, and is in his seventeenth year of teaching the BMI Nashville Songwriters workshops. He recently presented an acclaimed master class at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (founded by Sir Paul McCartney) and has taught at conferences, colleges, and universities throughout the U.S. and in countries including Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Ireland, the U.K., Canada, Bermuda, and Jamaica.

No other teacher has Jason's simple, effective and easy to understand ideas for writing songs. I have been to Jason's workshops every year in a row and have learned something new and exciting about writing every time. Since learning his "tools of the trade", I have refined my writing skills to the point where my songs have made it onto commercial radio and I have played them on stages with artists as big as Bon Jovi!

I just want to say how much I enjoyed the workshop- Jason was absolutely amazing!!! Very inspiring and so positive and encouraging. I woke up the next morning and wrote 2 rock songs!! ...I'd love to do his workshops again.
 - Jennine Bailey (Christchurch, New Zealand)

Apart from being a gifted songwriter, Jason is a fantastic teacher. He has methodically broken down the craft of songwriting and gives clear, thorough and very interesting presentations on the various aspects of songwriting. I found his presentations riveting and I have learnt a great deal from these sessions.
He has an amazing ability to quickly see the strengths and weaknesses in a  given song, but beyond this, my experience of this is that Jason actually does care for the writer and the song. In summary, I do believe my songwriting has significantly improved as a result of Jason's influence, he has remained very approachable regarding song critiquing, he has a wealth of knowledge, he is an excellent speaker/ teacher, I strongly recommend his services. - Joe Romeo (Australia)

Jason Blume’s songwriting workshops are a “must-do” for any budding  songwriter.  He will teach you the difference between a “good song” and a “hit song” and give you the necessary tools to take your songwriting to a whole new level.  What you learn at his workshops is inspiring and invaluable.
- Alex and Alida Valmorbida (Melbourne, Australia)

Just dropping an email (and taking a break from writing hit songs) to say a big thank you…it was the best weekend I have had in a long time, insightful and entertaining. It completely de mystified a lot of things for me…and I hope that there will be another in the near future.
- Gordon Barrell (Wellington, New Zealand)
