At the end of this month, we are hoping to release an update for Quad adding NI NKS support, a new range of presets, and as you can see in the image above a new ‘waveform’ display in the XY fields! So keep an eye on our next email newsletter in which we will announce the release! QUAD was the first-ever Rack Extension synthesizer built from the ground up for Reason by the Rob Papen team and is now also available as VST/AU/AAX plugin.
The sonic palette is huge, through the vast modulation possibilities that QUAD has to offer.
The sound sculpting tools start in each Oscillator and are the Phase Distortion and WaveShaper.
These tools are brought to life by 2 XY-Pads in each Oscillator, which can be moved through an extensive modulation matrix.
QUAD’s Oscillators are complemented by two top-notch analog-modeled Filters, which have different routing options, an arpeggiator, and two high-quality effects processors.

QUAD was the first-ever Rack Extension synthesizer built from the ground up for Reason by the Rob Papen team and originally released in 2014. Because we have released the VST/AU/AX Quad with new features, it made sense that we also updated the original Quad-RE with these new features! This update is available for free for all Quad-RE users and includes:
- New Oscillator waveforms.
- New Filter types, which brings the total to 36 Filter types!
- Improved Reverb code (RP-VERB Algo)
- FX2 can combine Reverb & Delay.
- New preset bank by artist Sola.

Yes, we have updated XY-Transfer with a new FX called Granular (grains) and of course, a video will follow soon. There are a handful of new presets added and the manuals also have been updated, to explain what you can do with this new FX. There are tempo-sync options and this new FX is great for producers who like to experiment with their productions.
If you already own XY-Transfer, please log in to robpapen.com and download the latest installer.

Picture a -Filter Bank- with 36
different Filter types and an XY panel which can also be recorded and
played back in several different ways. Yes...that is already very cool,
however, picture in your mind that you can also use it in combination
with 2 other FX, which also have their own XY pad and this is all then
polished off with a flexible Stereo Delay!
Imagine using the
Lo-Fi effect combined with a Comb Filter and an analog modeled filter,
and this all with each its own XY pad and this all topped off by the
Stereo Delay. :o
Indeed, thinking out of the box, this is what
the - Rob Papen - brand loves to do and of course, this is the case with
XY-Transfer And If you are familiar with the instruments, you know the
XY panel for sure. It is a very creative tool for adding dynamic
changes to a sound.
Well, now you can use our exciting XY panel in combination with a cool range of effects!
The
cool thing about XY-Transfer is that each ‘BLOCK’ which holds one of
the FX, also has its own XY field. So very complex effect types are
possible which can lead to some unheard and creative effects!
The available Block effects are:
- Filter Bank - | - Comb Filter - | - Shaper - | - Room - | - Gater - | - Grains- .
These
effects can be combined in these blocks and the - Stereo Delay- can
also be placed in different combinations within these 3 blocks.
So,
if you are looking for a - Filter Bank ‘ and beyond... XY-Transfer will
transfer your audio into something creatively new and unheard.

Punch-2 and what is coming next?
As you can see in the image above Punch-2 will get the option to use color pads! As a user, you will be free to use a global color setting for each type of drum sound, or a custom setup inside a drum kit preset. The aim is to release this update for Punch-2 including some new drum kit presets at the end of May. So keep an eye on the next email newsletter! About Punch-2:
Using a combination of drum
synthesis/samples and the built-in pattern sequencer to trigger beats
already made Punch a unique drum machine and loved by many upon its
first release!.
Now, by adding even more drum synthesis models,
and introducing a totally new main screen which allows you to quickly
create new drum kits, Punch-2 continues its legacy to be a cutting edge
drum machine... but with lots of extra added punch!
Things do
not stop there though, the interface and the synthesis sound options
have been expanded greatly! Punch-2 now allows you to import your own
REX files and samples to turn into your own loops. You can map out REX
files or sample slices to individual pads and combine these creatively
with the sounds & pattern sequencer found inside Punch-2! Further
editing of REX files or Sliced pads is also possible, using filters,
envelopes...routing into one of the 4 FX modules. And yes, you can even
use granular synthesis on the REX and Slice pads!
Feature-wise
there is almost too much to mention here! For instance, there is a full
new ‘Master’ section with EQ, Compressor, Limiter, Stereo/mono split
filter, and layout mixer.
Last but not least, Punch-2 also comes with a vast amount of included sounds, ready to groove into your music and productions!

About your product licenses and installation. We have moved away from providing our customers with a 2nd serial number for an additional computer system. We have noticed that serials can be mixed up on systems, which causes errors. Since Monday 11th of May the system at ‘My products’, has changed to 1 serial only, which can be activated on two systems. So using our products on two systems is still possible Important:
- Your current installed products will remain running unchanged.
- If you have already installed products with the 2nd serial, it also will still continue to run on your computer without any problems even after running updates.
- In the case of a fresh new computer system or an HD failure, please check our short 1min 28sec video here about re-installing our products.
