just have to giggle when I get a
call from a newbie note broker
asking me what’s the hottest
market to go after so they can
get deals right away OR from a
note broker who stopped doing
business a few years back and
wants to know what’s hot now and
if it is a good time to get back
in the business. I giggle
because for me the question has
never been whether it’s a hot
market for notes, or a cold
market for notes...

I have been reading a lot of
your articles regarding note brokering. I'm in the process of learning all
I can. I was wondering how you feel about sending yellow letters to note
holders instead of postcards?

A - Hi Greg!
Thanks for the email! You
are free to test your own marketing ideas and find out what works for you. I
have tested all kinds of different combinations including color of paper and I
get the most responses with my direct mail to note holders when I use a white
linen paper (a bit more expensive) for the first mailing and then I use 4 color
postcards only for follow up mailings. Much more info can be found in my
