Hi Everyone,
Hope you survived the holidays and are getting back into same old rut you're always in. New Years Day represents exciting new experiences and changes in your life. Then you go back to work and nothing has changed. Nothing. Being an adult is awesome.
Oh this is fun news: we’ve partnered with Jordan the Lion, the YouTube legend who has dropped by Dearly Departed Tours in the past. One tour is already sold out but there are still a couple of seats left for the second. If you would like to go, snap them up. If you’d like to see one of the videos Jordan made with Dearly Departed, click here.
Thank you to everyone who listened to our first podcast. The second one is available now! You can find it on iTunes and can also keep track of us at dearlydepartedpod.com and our new Facebook page if stalking is your thing. Because it is mine. I like what you've done with your hair.
For those of you planning on attending the Sharon Tate Birthday Party we are throwing, we now have a time. The party will take place at the Dearly Departed Tours Artifact Museum on Saturday, January 19 from 6-8pm when we will unveil some of Sharon’s personal items for the first time. This is a proper birthday party—cupcakes (No cake. We're won't have knives laying around.), balloons, streamers. If you’d like to come and celebrate Sharon, come on down.
Our friend Jill Marie Morris is back for 2019. Her Hollywood Ever After events at our shop have gotten great reviews and are selling out. She’s doing shows in March, May and July. If you’d like to attend, the ticket links are below. Hope to see you there. Jill always does an amazing job.
I was home (Detroit) for Christmas and I took a haggy break to see the infamous Cantrell Funeral Home. This story is one of the saddest and (let's face it) one of the best stories of last year.
Oh yes she did.
Finally, Troy and I visited Las Vegas over the holiday weekend. We visited Zak Bagan's Haunted Museum which was a lot of fun (and the mystery was solved about where Sharon Tate's wedding dress ended up). When we visited Liberace's garage, we were delighted to see what might be the worst wax figures ever. And that’s saying something. I LOVE bad wax figures but. But seriously. Ever.
Showing one of Lee's rides is always cause for a reflection.
On our way back to LA we stopped to see the Bonnie and Clyde death car - one of the trifecta death cars. It put Whiskey Pete's on the map, yet now isn't even mentioned on the outside. I hope if they ever decide to part with it, they'll consider us. In the meantime, it was great to pay a visit. I even wore my Death Car T-shirt. Groupie!
Have a happy and healthy 2019. Thanks for riding along.
Love,
Scott and the Dearly Departed Team
