EXCERPTS FROM BOOK: HIDE MYSELF IN THEE
PSALM 91

PEOPLE GIVE ACCOUNT
That the Ninety-first Psalm,
Will deliver us from destruction
And bring us to calm.

HERE IS MY BOAT
On the rough seas today,
What does this Psalm
To me have to say?

IT STARTS ABOUT ABIDING
In the secret place.
How do I apply
That to my case?

DWELLETH MEANS
To live, remain, stay,
With nothing
Between to delay.

JUST STAY
And stay and stay.
During the night
And during the day

IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD
Within my heart.
Now how about
That for a start?

BUT I AM SO BUSY
Thinking about
Answers to problems
I have sought.

MY MIND KEEPS DARTING
here and there,
Because I’m so filled
with all kinds of care.

BUT AGAIN I TURN
To my secret place,
So God himself
Can take up my case.

I PRACTIVE AND PRACTICE
but it seems all in vain,
But the battle wages on;
I’m looking for gain.

I NOTICE THERE DOES
Seem to be more of a plan,
Good things intertwined
The best that they can.
His presence and love
More real to my heart,
That’s my map to chart.

I FIND MYSELF SOARING
Above the rough seas,
And within,
There is so much more ease.

HE’S ANSWERING
My prayers,
From my heart
Goes the terror.

TO THE HARBOR
My boat has safely come, “aye,”
Because the Lord to my life
Is brought nigh.
