Starting with Sigmund Freud,
psychotherapists have been noting and puzzling over instances of apparent psi that pop up in their therapy sessions.

Sometimes, extrasensory perception or ESP type events seem to occur during counselling sessions.  Dr. Jim Carpenter has noticed this type of event in a number of his sessions, and they aren’t rare.  From the beginnings of psychology, Freud noticed apparent ESP events during psychotherapy, and though many counsellors don’t report these events, enough have been reported that it’s valuable to explore WHY these events occur.  Do they have meaning related to the client’s growth and healing?

Dr. Carpenter will discuss a number of these incidents and offer some ideas about what their unconscious purpose is in psychotherapy.  How might they be better understood and appreciated? Can they be used to aid a client's conscious and unconscious therapeutic goals?

This talk will be of special interest to counselors and therapists who are curious about ESP and psi activity.
