CHICAGO (August 23, 2011) - In today’s ever changing times, the music industry has seen many changes due to new technologies and a transitioning economy.  As these changes occur, the 6th Annual GMIXX Music & Lifestyle Retreat planned for Labor Day Weekend, 2011 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic has been rescheduled for 2012 in 2 exciting locales one in Las Vegas, Nevada Spring of 2012 and a fall retreat will be in the beautiful resort city of Punta, Cana Dominican Republic.

The GMIXX Music Group has brought on two new partners, Brand Strategist Vern Goff and Music Executive and DJ Charles Dixon to the company in expanding the brand into different business ventures and interests. The Global Mixx Music Retreat launched in 2006 having co-founded the first Core DJ Retreat with Founder and President, Tony Neal in 2005. Since then, GMIXX has produced five music conferences with participants ranging from Grammy-award winning superstar lyricists Kanye West and Common to award winning songwriter/producer Bryan Michael Cox.

With the addition of our new partners, Vern Goff and Charles Dixon, we had to weigh all aspects of bringing the music conference to a competitive level to match what new marketplace demands; music business dynamics that welcomes a consumer connection in building attention and attractions." Ms. Datcher goes on to add, "I am very pleased with our decision and we've already begun building a more powerful and effective business model with our new business partners on board."

The HBCU (Historically Black Colleges & Universities) Network has partnered with Historically Black Colleges throughout the country to launch an interactive website and media radio channel for attending students.

They are seeking music to be aired on U105, to be launched September 5th. The format is R&B, Hip Hop, Soul, Nu Jazz & Deep House as well as alternative & rock, depending on the artist and sound. The station will play 50% of the hits and 50% of emerging/Independent artists, so they are currently accepting all submissions.
If you are a record label, artist, producer or DJ this is a great opportunity to reach thousands of students and build a growing relationship with this network. The station will premiere student DJs from various campuses and showcase artist tours.

The website is being updated with new content and will officially launch upon the Fall 2011-2012 college semester so this is an excellent time to for the network to accept submissions.
To submit your music and EPK, please contact:
