Saturday 7 March, 3 - 5 pm
|
A special community art auction is underway, featuring works donated from the Pittwater home of Susan Duncan and Bob Story, in support of the West Pittwater Rural Fire Brigade.
In a generous gesture, a substantial selection of artworks from Susan and Bob’s home has been donated to the brigade. These are not works assembled as a formal collection, but pieces lived with over many years — chosen for familiarity, affection and a deep connection to Pittwater.
The auction includes approximately 40 framed works, comprising original linocut prints, watercolours, mixed-media artworks and selected prints, many still in their original, time-worn frames. Alongside contemporary works are historical images of Pittwater, offering glimpses of bays, shorelines and offshore settlements as they once were.
The auction is being run online via AirAuctioneer, with a live offshore conclusion for selected works at Elvina Reserve on Saturday 7 March.
|
IBidder registration opens at 3.00pm, with the live auction commencing at 3.30pm sharp. Twenty works will be finalised live, with all remaining works continuing online until Monday 9 March at midnight.
There is no cost to attend the live auction. However, attendees are asked to register via Humanitix so organisers have a sense of numbers for ferry arrivals, seating and general planning on the day.

Elvina Bay is accessible by water only. The Church Point Ferry departs at 2.30pm, arriving at Elvina Bay at approximately 2.55pm. Elvina Reserve is a short, level walk (around 40 metres) from the ferry wharf.
Whether you bid, attend, or simply help spread the word, your involvement supports local artists and the volunteers who help protect the Pittwater community.

International Women's Day
|
Catherine Park, Scotland Island
|
This year marks the 115th birthday of International Women's Day (IWD). Let's celebrate with a morning tea in Catherine Park.
The theme is "Give to Gain. Imagine a gender equal world, free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination".
BYO drinks and share plate. There will be: readings; shared thoughts for women in war-torn countries and victims of violence; reflection and discussion and some of our women elders to talk about what IWD means for them.
See you in the park.... if you can, bring a note donation for Resilience in Mona Vale, or if you have some funky gear/things for the Resilience shop, bring them and we will arrange delivery.
